In October of 2017, The Hymn Society launched The Center for Congregational Song. Along with programs and workshops being held across the country for pastors and church musicians, The CCS will offer an unprecedented database of congregational song resources. The searchable database will include thousands of resources on congregational song from across the U.S. and Canada including organizations, churches, clinicians/consultants, hymn and song-writers, books, blogs, videos, and audio files. Each entry will be categorized and searchable. The CCS will also serve as a catalyst for vital conversation about the current state and future of congregational singing in the U.S. and Canada by providing forums and gatherings for people from various backgrounds, denominations, opinions, and geography to communicate in healthy and productive ways. As the Director of The Center for Congregational Song and as a staff member of The Hymn Society in the U.S. and Canada, I would like to introduce this ground-breaking resource to members of the AGO.
